Architecture, Art & Design – The interdisciplinary research projects of Ryota Matsumoto reflect the spatio-temporal conditions of our ever-evolving urban and ecological environments, which could be attributed to a multitude of spatial practices constructed by different socio-cultural entities. They are created as a series of visual commentaries on speculative changes in notions of cities, socities and cultures in the morphological nature of constantly shifting topography and geology.
I don’t remember exactly how I came across Ryota’s work. I think I was probably searching for some sound wave images and out of all the fluffy shutterstock drivel I saw an image of his peek through. This is some psychdream magik that reminds me of the way my modular synth sounds in my head.
